AquaB has won the 2020 IChemE Global Award in the Water category for the company’s breakthrough in nanobubble-generation technology. The award was presented following a webinar showcasing the finalists.
The award, which celebrates projects, processes or products that demonstrate chemical engineering excellence in the water sector, also recognises AquaB’s advances in nanobubble aeration for the activated-sludge process, as well as advances in DAF and ozone nanobubbles for disinfection.
The IChemE Global Awards are widely recognised as the world’s most prestigious chemical engineering awards. Established in 1994, they celebrate chemical engineering excellence and cover the breadth of the chemical and process industries.
Professor Niall English, of AquaB is a Fellow of the IChemE. He said:
“I am delighted that our work on nanobubble generation has been recognised by this award. There was a very, very high standard from all of the presentations, and they were fascinating to hear. This award is a big endorsement from these very important awards, and we are very grateful.”
IChemE President Stephen Richardson said:
“Chemical engineering’s contribution to society is visible in every home, school, hospital, factory and high street worldwide. To each of our winners, your remarkable work has been recognised by your peers at the IChemE Global Awards to commend you for the real impact you’re making in tackling some of the huge environmental, social and economic challenges we are facing.
